About Me

IMG-20200501-WA0000_edited.jpg

I am Isabelle Dolis, an experienced integrative psychologist/ therapist and have worked in mental health and counselling for over ten years, both in the charity sector and privately. I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) whose Ethical Code I abide by. I work with adults and practice integratively. This means that I draw on a number of different approaches and theories such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), mindfulness-based practices and attachment theory to name a few. This enables me to tailor the work to your issues and your preferences.

I underwent extensive training to qualify and continue my professional development as required by the BACP. After completing a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and volunteering as a befriender and mental health helpline worker, I trained in counselling psychology. This involved a number of work placements (Mind, The Cogwheel Trust, Springbank Ward (Fulborn Hospital)). Once qualified, I decided to start practicing independently, which affords a level of flexibility that I value. I continue to work with The Cogwheel Trust whose mission to offer quality, affordable counselling in the Cambridge area is close to my heart.
